Founded in 2014 Romans Limited celebrates a long tradition of enterprise and community service in New Zealand

 

Romans Limited is the New Zealand-owned investment holding company of the Laurent family.

Origins of the Name

Our philosophy is centred on the namesake of the business Henry George Romans who displayed a pioneering spirit, service to his community and church and a longevity the firm wishes to emulate. Henry George Romans moved to Arrowtown from Tasmania to reshape the families fortunes after his father had been sent down from North Yorkshire in the 1840’s. The Romans family became prominent in the town and Henry George would act as both Mayor of the town and a Councillor for many years.

The family home on 65 Buckingham Street and the St Paul’s Church are now both listed in the New Zealand Historic Places Trust
